We hope that whilst reading this update you find yourself and your families well in these challenging times as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact all our daily lives.

Communications received from the Secretary of State for business indicate the need, and the Government’s desire, for construction to continue and this cannot happen without manufacturing companies such as David Smith St Ives Ltd getting back to work, two letters released from the Secretary of State for Business setting out the Government’s position quite clearly can be found on the GOV website.

Many Construction sites have remained open and some are now re-opening after temporary closure to assess the capability of working with Social Distancing practices in place. These sites require products from businesses such as ourselves to continue operating.

Key to David Smith St Ives Ltd being able to recommence manufacture and begin supplying finished products to our customers will be the return to work of our Suppliers, we are speaking to all our suppliers to ascertain their current position and their proposition for returning to work.

We have been considering how we can initiate a phased return to work whilst maintaining the complications of Social Distancing within our factory, in response to this we have implemented a new set of procedures to ensure we are able to operate and protect the safety of our Staff, their Families, our Customers and Suppliers.

Initially a small number of Production Staff will return to work on Monday 20th April, as we become more comfortable with operating under our new procedures we will introduce further staff back into the work place.

We hope you understand the reasons behind this approach and assure you of our continued support moving forward.

We wish you all well, Stay Safe.
